Bamboo Serenity
The pendant was water etched on Precious Metal Clay. The toggle clasp was
created with impressions of rosemary leaves. The strands were created with
fresh water pearls and Thai silver. Mickey is
intrigued with Japanese brush painting. She studied several pieces
of bamboo paintings and then applied what she saw to her own water etchings of
bamboo.

Mondrian in the Spring
The fused glass plate was inspired by Mickey's
daughter’s (Victoria) third grade class. She had given each student
a 4 inch white tile and colorful squares and rectangle. Each square was fused
and applied to the edge of a mirror for a school auction. While Mickey watched
each of the students create their own personal work of art, she was inspired by
the variety the children displayed. When Mickey completed the frame, she then
used the extra squares and rectangles to create this beautiful 10 inch square
plate.
